Tuesday Tales – PICKY

It’s time for Tuesday Tales!

V.L. Locey, MM Romance

Today we have an excerpt from Tangled in Clouds, an upcoming novella from my According to Liam world.

Do bear in mind that these snippets are unedited so please be kind if you find any mistakes.

This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

When Jamie opened the door on Saturday night he looked stunned. Beautiful but stunned.

“Wow,” he whispered when I placed the two dozen long stem red roses into his arms. “This is…wow. Thank you so much. I feel kind of bad about serving you a half-assed lasagna now.”

“Why?” I asked when he stepped aside to let me into his place. I stepped out of the cold into the warmth of his home. I’d not seen his new place but I loved it already. It was small but filled with love and personality, just like Jamie.

“Well because you brought me roses and I just threw together a pan of noodles, sauce, and cheese.” He explained then smiled sheepishly when I looked at him. “I should have been pickier about what I served you.”

“Ah no need to be upset. I love noodles and sauce. You look nice.” I winced inwardly. That was a lame comment. Bryn would say something debonair. “I mean you look appealing. To me. Sexually appealing not appealing like a serving of kallakuko but sexy. To me. Not to the world. I mean yes to the world but not in a way that you are trying to make me lust for you. I do lust for you! Not bad lust though. Good lust. I’m going to shut my mouth now.”

He smiled. A tender amused smile that helped clear some of the dread my mouth had caused.

“Thank you for the compliment. I found it in there somewhere.” He teased a bit then moved around me. His cologne was spicy and woodsy. It did funny things to my stomach. Perhaps that was hunger though. I’d not eaten since breakfast. My mother always judged her cooking by how much of it her guests ate. I wanted to be sure to eat heartily so Jamie knew I loved his cooking.

What a charming snippet! I love how tongue-tied he gets! And his observation about his mother’s food. Very human, touching and funny all at the same time. Well done!

Endearing snippet. I especially loved that last line: I wanted to be sure to eat heartily so Jamie knew I loved his cooking.

His rambling was priceless! I could sense just how nervous he was. I can’t wait to see where the two of them go. Great job!
