Tuesday Tales – BLACK

It’s time for Tuesday Tales!

Tuesday Tales, V.L. Locey, Gay Romance, MM Romance

Today we have a snippet from Reserved, A Tales of Bryant Novella. This is one of two books that I’ll be working on in November. The other one is a secret project that I think everyone will be thrilled about once we release the news! Today’s word prompt is “Black” and in this snippet we’re having a cup of coffee with our leading man, Adrian, his assistant, and his dog.

This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

“Oh, here’s a table. Wait. Here, take his leash so I can cover the seat. Ugh, people and pigeons simply do not care about white culottes.” I handed the bright yellow leash off to my new assistant Tracy, pulled out my hankie, and laid it carefully across the green metal seat. “You’d think the parks department would pay people to come around and scour the nasty off the chairs every hour or so.”

“Are you done?” the sassy little queer girl asked. I gave her a pointed look through my lorgnette that seemed to have no effect. I liked that about her. She kept me grounded when I tended to flitter about on the verge of an anxious apoplexy. “Here, take him back. I’m going to go get us some coffee at that vendor by the carousel. Decaf for you.”

I plucked the sunshine-colored leash from her fingers, sat down, and pulled the small doggie blanket out of my pooch tote. After it was draped artfully over my lap, I patted my thighs and my dog leaped into my lap. He was new as well and I adored him.

“Who is the most precious dog in all of Bryant Park?” I cooed to the tiny black Pomeranian.  I’d renamed after adopting him from a local Pom rescue last month. What kind of unimaginative doodle named such a majestic dog Ralph? “Who’s the most handsome man-dog in this whole darn park? Why it has to be Captain Octavius Crumpet, that’s who!”
