It’s time for Tuesday Tales!
Today we have a snippet from Reserved, A Tales of Bryant Novella #2. This is one of two books that I did for NaNoWriMo. The other one is a secret project that I think everyone will be thrilled about once we release the news! This will be the last tidbit from this book as next month I’ll be starting a new novel.
Today’s word prompt is “Thanks” and in this snippet Adrian and Galen are at an event Adrian has set up.
This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Isamu Taylor-Gilles, and this is my husband Brian.” Isamu, the darling lad, leaped in to cover my social gaffe. I’d have to make sure he got an extra serving of the dessert when it was served. “We’ve known Adrian for over a year now. He handled our wedding in Bryant Park. Are you a party planner too?”
“Oh gosh no you sillikins, Galen is a police officer over in Brooklyn,” I gushed, squeezing Galen’s muscular forearm gently. Standing so close I could smell his ginger and citrus aftershave. It made my mouth water.
“You lowered your standards enough to cross over into Brooklyn?” Brian asked, his hazel eyes dancing with pleasure. The man liked nothing better than to jab people with his sharp tongue. Galen looked up at me questioningly. I wanted to kick Brian right in the balls.
“Don’t be goofy! I love Brooklyn, and the Bronx. I adore all the boroughs. Oh look! There’s Apple Brandy, that new singer who’s been dating one of Caiden’s leading ladies. Ta!” I pulled Galen away from the sniggering stud in the Hugo Boss clothes and led him not to Apple Brandy but to a server who I waved down. “Here. You must try some of the offerings! Andre, who is hopefully back in the kitchen after yet another unsuccessful attempt to woo me with roasted pets—”
“I’m sorry, did you say the man is cooking dogs?” Galen’s pretty eyes flared.
“What? Dogs? Oh! Heavens no! Roasted guinea pig is a Peruvian delicacy but there’s none of that being served tonight. Tonight we have some sea bass making the rounds as well as these crocks of lomo saltado, which is a heavenly beef stir fry. Try some, it’s quite the most delicious thing you’ll ever put into your mouth.” I handed him a crock then waved the gangly young man in the green shirt away.
“I think there’s probably something much tastier I can put in my mouth,” Galen replied making my knees grow rubbery.
I fanned my face with my hand then batted my lashes. “Officer Ellison, I do declare you’re making me feel tingly in my private bits.”
He laughed long and hard. “I do love the way you talk, and look, and wear those fancy clothes.” I bowed in thanks hands clasped as one does in yoga class. I watched with delight as he forked up some stir fry and his face melted into something close to a sexual expression. “This is amazing.”
“Isn’t it just?!”
