Before I knew it, his lips were upon mine, gentle, soft, warm, and quick at first, just gliding around my mouth. Then they came harder and faster, far ranging, yet retaining a worshipful delicacy, infused with a power that made me breathless.
Lost in his scent and taste, the smoothness of his lips and tongue, the bad memories faded. The brightness of his eyes instead of the flash of bullets. His grunts of passion instead of the claps of gunfire. His delicious fragrance instead of the stink of gunpowder. My heart beating in unison with his, instead of alone in fear of death.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland months after Bloody Sunday to a family of rabbis and scientists, Jacobs is Jewish-American like Milk, Irish-British like Turing, as well as queer, non-binary (she/he/they), Neurodiverse, and with a Bipolar I diagnosis. jacobs first marched for LGBTQ rights in 1991 and has spent significant time in both Milk’s San Francisco and Turing’s North of England.
