Tuesday Tales – Picture Prompt

It’s time for Tuesday Tales!

Welcome back! This week is our picture prompt week and all posts must reflect the chosen image. Our picture prompt posts have to reflect the chosen image and can be no longer than 300 words.

Do bear in mind that these snippets are unedited so please be kind if you find any mistakes.

This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Wattley gave me an eyeroll. He had no love of banking and investments as Nate and I did. Had. Well, I had, Nate still did. Wattley was one of those who could barely balance his checking account. His skills were managerial. He was a people person which made his position as a general operations manager for Happy Hands Adventures, a non-profit that took disabled and terminally ill children on fantasy vacations, a perfect fit for him.

“Sorry. You know Arnold,” Nate said as he rose from the couch. I nodded. I did know Arnold. He never made a decision for himself. “He can’t decide if he has to piss without calling me to give him permission. He’s got a hard-on for the NFT from that actress that sells those candles. I’d sooner carve out my eyes with a melon baller than invest a dime into anything that transphobic cow is peddling.”

“Don’t hold back. Let us know how you really feel,” Wattley joked as he gave Nate a soft shove toward the front door.

“To quote Sam Clemens, ‘Honesty: the best of all the lost arts’,” Nate replied, draping an arm around Wattley’s shoulder then one about mine. “Let’s go have a drink and watch a show. Who knows maybe one of us will get lucky tonight.”

Nearing the huge neon red lips that flickered and hummed above the club doors I was sure of three things:

Nate would certainly get lucky. He always did.

Wattley would get tipsy and embarrass himself. He always did.

I’d sit at the bar with a virgin piña colada wishing I was home. I always did.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Love this snappy scene! Love the quote from Mark Twain, too. And the melon baller reference had me rubbing my eyes furiously!! Great scene!
