It’s time for Tuesday Tales!
Today we have an excerpt from my new WIP The World According to Liam!
Do bear in mind that these snippets are unedited so please be kind if you find any mistakes.
This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!
“I’d love that. This is Liam.” He gently nudged the boy closer. I stood behind her wheelchair, hand on her right shoulder, watching carefully. Not that I thought Liam would do anything to harm my grandmother on purpose, but little boys can be rough and rowdy.
“Hello Great Oma. I’m Liam. I live in America and came around the world to see you. Uncle Bryn says that you are a hundred years old and that you still have all your teeth. I have a tooth that’s getting loose. It’s just a baby tooth though. Did you have a tooth fairy when you were little? Did she bring you money? Did they have money when you were little? Was it coins or little round rocks? I seen a cartoon once with cavemen and they used rocks to buy corn and candy. Did you have candy when you were little? I like Snickers.”
Michael’s green eyes rounded. Mormor laughed out loud then asked for a hug. Liam leaned in to embrace her tenderly, his eyes, so similar to Michael’s, finding mine. I nodded at his gentleness.
“The honesty in a child’s heart shines like brand new pfenning. Liam, come. Sit beside Great Oma.”
The lad scurried around to claim the seat beside my grandmother. The place of honor Papa called it. I was happy enough to sit beside my husband, knee touching knee, and watch Liam enchant my grandmother as he did everyone he met. Home. It really was where the heart lingered.
