My stars, where does the time go!? Even in quarantine for most of the year 2020 certainly has sped by, at least for me. Looking back on the year that was we all will probably note it was a time of great pain, suffering, and loss. I hope that next year will be brighter for all of us! We all desperately need that brightness.
As an author, I’m always planning ahead. To keep myself from stressing (and OH do I stress) over deadlines and other unforeseen calamities, I prefer to schedule my releases a year in advance. Not only does this keep me from freaking out it helps me to know what’s coming up next, what needs written, and what openings I have for my coauthored books with RJ Scott. She also plans far in advance which keeps us both happy and productive writers.
As I wrapped up 2020 and was peeking ahead, I couldn’t help but notice that 2021 is looking like a year of wrap-ups, westerns, and of course hockey! We’ll be seeing the last books in the According to Liam series as well as the final two Colors of Love releases. I’m going to miss those worlds but there are new books and worlds BEGGING to be explored and explore them we shall.
My first historical gay western, The Ballad of Crow & Sparrow, will premiere in May. I’m very excited to finally be able to get this one worked into the schedule. It’s been bumped around a bit but it’s settled into its release spot for sure this time!
I’ll also be kicking off a contemporary western trilogy, in 2021. These three books are a spin-off from A Brush of Blue, one of my Colors of Love books. The first in the series is due to release in August and is titled Dawn’s Desire. Book two, Twilight’s Touch, will come out in January of 2022, with the third, Dusk’s Devotion, following a few months later.
Don’t despair hockey romance fans! RJ and I have all kinds of ideas and plots for books for 2021. Oh look! Another plot bunny! I can’t say exactly what they are right now, but rest assured we’ve got things planned. By gosh do we have the plans! To stay up to date on our books join our reader groups or the MM Hockey Romance group for all the up-to-the-moment news.
When 2022 rolls around and if I’m still here and clacking away at the keyboard, I’ll be starting a new gay hockey romance series, and a contemporary gay romance series. The titles are top secret and guarded by S.H. I. E. L. D. agents, but I can give you a hint or two. The hockey series will center around a gay league in upstate Pennsylvania and the contemporary series will revolve around a small town in NY state.
That’s all I can say right now. *Peeks over shoulder at agents guarding the idea vault*
I am beyond excited to dive into all the new stories. It will be hard to say goodbye to some old friends but we’ll be making new ones along the way. And, as always there will be love, romance, humor, and a happy ending!
Hugs and Happy New Year Wishes
Vicki
